The Indiana by Martin – alto

Some 10 years ago I got my hands on a badly abused ‘The Indiana by Martin’, which I repaired – the posts were pressed into the body quite badly, and he straightened out the tube for me. It turned out to be a very good player with an incredibly fast action. Anyway, I sold it on to finance the next project, but when I had the opportunity to get another one I jumped at it. This one is a good player, nicely set up with great action, which works well with a (red…) Tonelink mouthpiece by Johannes Gerber. Deep, dark sound. Didn’t really need any work when I got it, almost a disappointment after the epic repairs needed to get its predecessor up and blowing…

Serial 67xxx, probably 1950s; Serial number information on Martin saxes can be found at saxpics.com
